As many of you know, around 80 graduate students have been terminated from their jobs at UC Santa Cruz (see Newsletter below and last week’s commentary). In support of the striking graduate students, the Faculty Organizing Group at Santa Cruz has called for cancellation of all classes today (March 2). Graduate students are meeting at each of the UC campuses today to decide what supportive action they can take. Our graduate students have called a meeting of the Graduate General Assembly to discuss action on the Berkeley campus.
They have solicited faculty support and urge us to attend the meeting at 5 p.m. on the 5th floor of Eshelman. We hope to see you there!
